Double Button: Two scales, one gesture
Context
Double Button explores how a small adjustment in form can expand everyday use. The project began with a simple observation: coats and scarves are often stored together, but hooks rarely acknowledge their different scale and behavior.
The question was how to support both without adding visual or mechanical complexity.
Resolution
The hook is composed of two circular elements at different depths. A larger rear disc supports hangers and heavier garments, while a smaller forward disc accommodates scarves and lighter items.
By separating use through scale rather than parts, Double Button doubles the utility of a typical single hook while remaining visually quiet. Concealed mounting keeps the focus on form and function.
