One or a Bunch: Where the idea began
Context
One or a Bunch began as an exploration of how a single vessel might support two distinct conditions: a full bouquet and a single stem.
This glass version represents the project’s first material investigation—where form, proportion, and use were tested with minimal tolerance for compromise.
Relationship to One or a Bunch (Plastic)
The glass version was developed first as a material and formal study. Its geometry and two-state logic directly informed the plastic One or a Bunch vases featured in Design Stories, where the idea was adapted for mass production and daily use.
Together, the two versions trace the same concept across materials, scales, and contexts.
Process
The prototype was made by fusing two formed borosilicate glass tubes, allowing the internal transitions to remain visible and precise. Working in glass required the form to be resolved through geometry alone - no ribs, texture, or material thickness could be used to correct imbalance.
